Hungary Government Scholarship 2024 is a fully financed international scholarship that will pay for tuition, living costs (up to HUF 40,000 per month), a monthly stipend of HUF 43,700, and medical insurance up to HUF 65 000 per individual.

Government Scholarship 2023–2024: This scholarship is available to overseas
students and is completely supported. The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship
will pay for tuition, a monthly stipend of HUF 43,700, a monthly housing
contribution of HUF 40,000, and annual health insurance up to HUF 65 000 per
individual.
For overseas
students with an outstanding academic record, the Hungarian government's most
prominent higher education scholarship program, Stipendium Hungaricum, provides
a variety of courses.
The scholarship is to enhance international
links between the academic and research communities, encourage the
internationalization and ongoing growth of Hungarian higher education, and
advance the prestige and competitiveness of Hungarian higher education
globally.
The Hungary Government
Scholarship program was started by the Hungarian government in 2013 and is run
by the Tempus Public Foundation under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and Trade.
It is already offered
in around 70 countries on five continents and draws more than 5000
international students annually. It is founded on bilateral education
agreements between Hungary and the governments of the sending nations. More
than 500 full-time degree programs, including part-time and PhD programs, are
available to applicants in all disciplines of higher education and at all
degree levels.

Scholarship Information
The following advantages are given to the winner of a government
scholarship:

Monthly stipend

Exemption from paying the tuition
price

A monthly payment of HUF 43,700 (about
EUR 130) toward living expenses in Hungary for a full year, or until studies
are finished.
Doctoral level: Hungarian legislation
now in effect states that scholarships are awarded for 12 months a year, till
the completion of studies, at the following levels: HUF 140 000 (about EUR 450)
for the first phase of education (four semesters) and HUF 180 000 (approximately
EUR 580) for the second phase (four semesters). Details can be found in section
1.2.1.
Contribution for
lodging

A free dorm space or a monthly housing cost contribution of HUF
40,000 for the length of the scholarship
·
Please be aware that the HUF 40,000 per month is a payment to
the rental costs if the student does not live in the dorm; in larger cities,
particularly the capital city, this contribution would not cover the entire
cost of the renting.
Medical Insurance
Health care services
in accordance with Act No. 80 of 1997, the national health insurance card, and
supplemental medical insurance for a maximum of HUF 65 000 (about EUR 205) per
person per year.

Hungary Required Documents Scholarship in Government
Online Application
Form:
·
Applicants must complete the online application form in English
and save all relevant data.
·
A current photo of the
candidate,
taken no more than two years prior to the application being submitted.
·
Applicants for partial (exchange) studies must specify the
duration of the program (one or two semesters) and the commencement date
(September of February).
Letter of Motivation:
·
A minimum of one page, typewritten in Times New Roman 12 point
font.
·
Original documentation demonstrating
language competency, with a minimum standard set by the host institution, AND
translations in the language of the chosen study program or in Hungarian
Scanned copy of the original documentation

Should the student have finished their
prior academic work in the language of the chosen study program, documentation
demonstrating that the language of instruction was the same as the study
program for which the applicant is currently applying may be uploaded.

Medical Certificate
·
A scanned copy of a complete health certificate issued no sooner
than November 15, 2023
·
A doctor's certificate, attesting to the applicant's lack of any
of the following conditions, is required. Hepatitis A, B, C, AIDS, or any other
pandemic diseases
Identification Document Copy:
·
If the applicant already possesses a passport, a scanned copy of
it should be uploaded. If not, the applicant should upload a scanned copy of
any document that could be used to verify their identity, such as a national ID
card.
·
Acceptance of the "Statement for Application" through
the online system: All applicants must accept this document.
·
Scanned and signed copies of the statement should not be posted
because it can only be approved through the online method.
·
Following registration, the statement shows in the online
application system; all applicants must click on accepting it in order to
submit their application.
·
Any document that is not available in Hungarian or the language
of the chosen study program must be translated, and both the translated copy
and the original document must be submitted.

How Do I Apply for a Government Scholarship in Hungary?
To apply for this scholarship,
please follow these steps in order:
Locate the program of your choice.
Study areas that are available
vary from one partner nation to the next. On the SH website, you can either
verify the study field designated for your nation or Using the DreamApply
system, you can begin your application and choose the appropriate study
program. here is a list
of sending partners and study fields that are qualified.
2. Speak with your partner for sending.

Applications must also be sent to the sending
partner's competent authorities. There may be differences in the requirements
and deadlines for submitting the application materials between each sending
partner. To find out the
specific procedures followed by your sending partner, get in touch with them.
This could be the relevant ministry, council, or the Hungarian Embassy in your
area.
2.
Sign up and send in
your files.
3.
The online application system, apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, is
used to handle applications. There are 29 institutions and colleges with over
600 study programs available for you to peruse, but you can only select two.
Verify that the programs you have selected are pertinent to the subject matter
of your studies. Please keep in mind that you must find a supervisor if you are
applying for a PhD program. The documentation you may need depend on your
country and degree of education. These criteria are listed under
"Documents" below.
4. The application deadline You have to submit your application by the
deadline. Before submitting your application, please ensure that all necessary
documents are attached and that all needed fields have been correctly filled
out.
5. Forwarding partner's list of nominees
By the end of February, sending partners will suggest the top candidates.
The selected Hungarian higher education institutions will receive the nominated
applications.
6. University entrance
examination in Hungary
The selected candidates will be contacted directly by the universities to
arrange a test date, which will take place between the middle of March and the
end of May. For your application to be taken into consideration for the final
list of scholarship recipients, you must receive at least 56 out of 100 points
on your exam.
